The Indian Army has formed an amazing alliance with six exceptionally skilled “rat-hole” miners from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, to help them in their mission to rescue 41 workers who are stuck in the Silkyara tunnel beneath Uttarkashi.
The last 10–12 metres of debris that separate by hand must be excavated by these miners, who are unparalleled in their ability to manoeuvre and dig in confined spaces.
